- Abstract
Rose Summerfield's lecture discusses the relationship between man and master. It personalising dramatically the suffering and fears of the working class. It also demonstrates Summerfield's racism, which, not uncommonly for the time, saw non-white people as a threat to the economic security of the white working class.
