- Abstract
The Communist Party of Australia (Marxist-Leninist) supported the Communist Party of China in the international struggle between the Soviet and Chinese parties. The CPA (M-L) embraced China's Cultural Revolution as a major initiative taken by Mao Zedong to prevent China from following what it saw as the Soviet Union's revisionist path. Hill speaks here to Australian university students not so much on the detail of the events then unflding in China, as on the ideological importance of the battle between selfish, capitalist ideology and selfless, communist ideology and of the significance of this for those in capitalist countries aspiring to embrace the revolutionary road to social change.
