Socialist Homosexuals
Summary
Socialist Homosexuals was a Sydney-based group. Almost certainly this group was also known as 'Socialist Lesbians and Male Homosexuals'. In the mid-1970s, the term 'gay' was increasingly replaced with 'lesbian and gay' on the left. The term 'homosexual' remained in use longer than outside the left because 'gay' was thought to be too soft - not challenging enough to mainstream society.
