Australian Greens

Summary

The Australian Greens is a federation of eight state and territory parties which grew out of the Australian environment movements and was officially formed in 1992. Led by Tasmanian Bob Brown, the Greens have achieved significant success in Australian politics, recently becoming the obvious "third" party. The Australian campaign on progressive issues including protection of the environment, indigenous reconcilliation, and increase in public funding for schools and hospitals.
